While the cabins were charming, there are a lot of renovations that needed to be done for our guests total enjoyment. For those of you that have stayed here many times over the years it will be a pleasure to join us again. For those of you that never stayed here we promise you will love our cabins.
Our goal is to provide clean, comfortable and unique lodging for our guests.
We want to stress one point to our customers: in order to provide picnic tables, outside chairs and BBQ grills - there is only room for one (1) vehicle per cabin. We have 15 parking spots for 15 cabins.
RENOVATIONS that were completed for the 2006 season are listed below:
 Electricity: what can we say, it all needed upgrading and its all done. We added additional electric sockets for all those modern appliances you bring with you (hair dryers, electric shavers, coffee pots and such)
Air Conditioning: We replaced the fans with air conditioners. I prefer fans but hubby and a lot of you want AC and I have to lose some battles. If you burn your dinner just remember I wanted the fans in there not the AC! Fans will be available upon request!
Television Sets: We replaced all of the television sets. We also added CABLE TV. Yes, you read it right. This we argued about too, but he won. My opinion is get out of your cabin and enjoy the fresh air, your on vacation!
Plumbing: All of the cabins now have adequate water pressure and adequate hot water.
Flooring: We could not save any of the old flooring. It has all been replaced.
Walls: All have been repaired, replaced or painted.
Doors: Locks: New doorknobs, new locks, fresh paint. (a few still have combination locks- ie:close and lift to lock)
Screens: All new screens on the windows and all new screen doors have been installed.
Bathrooms: Better water pressure, new toilet seats, new flooring. Sorry we cannot make them any larger but they will look great.
Bedrooms: New mattresses, new bedding, new bed frames, new flooring and new curtains.
Kitchenettes: New carts where needed, new hotplates, new silverware, new cooking utensils, new dishes and bowls, new glasses, updated electricity, new flooring, new curtains, improved refrigeration (frost free).
Porches: screens doors were replaced and outdoor carpeting was installed.
Exterior Improvements: fresh paint, picnic tables at every cabin, new outside chairs.
Windows: We placed storm windows over all the larger windows to cut down noise. You probably would not hear anything over the AC units anyhow!
Driveways: there are 5 driveways that lead into our cabins which we feel are NOT needed for 15 cabins. Therefore we are going to be taking out the one that is closest to the office. This will also cut down on U-Turns on our property. Please enter the property on the opposite side of the pool, by the Fern Park Cabins sign.
