Cabin Details and frequently asked questions

The information below should answer all of your questions. Below the details are the FAQ

  • ALL of our cabins have kitchenettes.
  • Small cabins have 1 double bed or 1 double and one twin bed. Sleeps up to 2 -3 people.
  • Medium cabins have 2 double beds in one room.  Sleeps up to 4 people (in one room)
  • Large cabins have 2 private bedrooms, one has  a double bed and one has  a double bed and a twin sized bed, Sleeps up to 5 people.
  • Our largest cabin sleeps 5 people. If you have more than 5 people in your group you will need more than one cabin.
  • All cabins have Air Conditioning
  • All cabins have Color Cable TV
  • Some cabins have screened porches. Inquire when you call.
  • Our swimming pool is 3 feet at the low end and 11 feet at the deep end. It is maintained very well.
  • We do not have or offer cots. The cottages are rented by size and customer count and there is not room to add a cot.
  • All cabins have kitchenettes that are equipped with:

    • an appropriately sized refrigerator, a two burner hot plate, a toaster, tea pot, pots and pans, dishes, cups & glasses, cooking utensils, silverware, cutting board and can/bottle opener, dish soap, a  brillo pad, trash bags, dish pans, dish racks, bath towels, wash cloths, sheets,  pillows & pillow cases, blankets, bath soap, dish soap, dish towel, dish cloth and toilet tissue.  

  • Please bring your own beach or pool towels. Towels are not provided for the beach or pool. Loaner items are available upon request.
  • Clothes lines are provided in or around most cabins for your use.
  • Charcoal grills are available for your use. Charcoal can be purchase locally or you can bring your own.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • We have  many " loaner" items that are available upon request  such  as:  lobster crackers, lobster picks, wine openers, grill utensils, tongs, knives, matches, brillo pads, strainers, etc. We also have some coffee pots available. If you need something just ask us. If we
    do not have the item available, we can point  you in the right direction.
  • To keep your kitchenettes stocked there are 2 small convenience stores that are less than a five minute walk from us. We are also located within a short walk of a Rite Aide store which carries limited groceries, supplies for cookouts, beach toys & towels, beer, wine, distilled spirits and much more. Within a few minutes drive is a Hannaford grocery store. For larger families there is a Wal-mart that is located within a 6 mile drive from Fern Park Cabins. We are conveniently located on Rt. 5 which is only minutes from Rt 1 and from exit 36 off the Maine Turnpike.

    One of 15 cabins that are available. This cabin is one of the large ones which has two separate bedrooms, a separate kitchenette, bathroom and screened porch. All of our cabins have individual picnic tables.

    We have a very well maintained swimming pool with crystal clear water.

    The pool picture was taken last year before the renovations. I am working on getting a new one.

    This is the kitchenette in a large cabin.

    There is a refrigerator (not shown), 2 burner hotplate, toaster, sink, dishpan, dish rack,   pots, pans, tea kettle, dishes, glasses, silverware, can opener, cooking utensils, strainer, cutting board, dish detergent, dish cloths and more.

    Toasters and coffee makers are available upon request. They are not in the cabins but we have loaners available (at no additional charge).

Do you offer a weekly discount?

Yes. Please refer to our rates page for rates and discount information.
  Do you allow pets? No, we are pet owners but do not allow pets in the cabins.
  Are you handicap accessible? No, the cabins were built in the 50's and the doorways and bathrooms are SMALL!
  Do you have on site parking? Yes, for 1 vehicle per cabin.
  Do you require a deposit? Yes, we require a $125.00 deposit per cabin. More info is available on the rates page.
  How far are you from the beach or pier?

From door to Old Orchard St.  is .3 miles, to the beach is .6 mile (7-10 minute walk)
  Do you accept cash? Yes, but we still require a credit card for a damage deposit.
  Do you accept checks? NO
  Do you have air conditioning and or cable TV? Yes to both.
  What are your office hours? 9 AM - 8 PM
  What happens if I call before 9 AM? Your  call  will  be  answered  by  an  answering  machine.  I am not a morning person.
